BETWEEN EUROPEANIZATION AND RE-NATIONALIZATION

The 2025 Migration Conference of the Academy of Law and Migration (ADiM), organised with and co-funded by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the integration of migrants in Europe (IntoME) and the PRIN 2022 projects “Legal Pathways for Refugees in the Euro-Mediterranean Context: The Feasibility of Processing Asylum Claims outside the EU” (EUROPATHWAYS) and “Community Sponsorship for Migrants in Europe” (CoSME), will take place from 28 to 30 May 2025 at the University of Tuscia and will be dedicated to the topic “New Trends in Asylum and Migration Policy: Between Europeanization and Re-Nationalization”.

Structure of the Conference

  • Plenary sessions:
     
    • Day 1 (28 May, afternoon): plenary session on “Protecting the Rights of Migrants and Refugees in Times of Crisis of the European Liberal Project”
    • Day 1 (28 May, afternoon): presentation of Hiroshi Motomura’s forthcoming book on “Borders and Belonging. Toward a Fair Immigration Policy”
    • Day 2 (29 May, afternoon): expert panel on “The New Pact on Migration and Asylum: Implementation and Enforcement Issues”
     
    Parallel Panel Sessions:
     
    • Day 2 and 3 (29 and 30 May): parallel panel sessions and social and networking activities
